How chip card attacks work​


Almost all modern bank cards are equipped with a chip, which stores the information necessary for payments. In today's article, I will talk about the methods of fraud with such cards, as well as the methods used by banks to counter carders.

Interesting statistics for the last year: despite the fact that back in 2010, “real security people” from banks were touched by how someone did not follow the obvious problems of card processing , in 2020 everything is about the same bad. Last year's inspection statistics showed that 31 out of 33 bank cards from different parts of the world, including Russian ones, are vulnerable to this attack.

In the next article, I will look at schemes for attacking contactless cards and related applications - mobile wallets.

Estadísticas interesantes del año pasado: a pesar de que en 2010 los "auténticos encargados de seguridad" de los bancos se sintieron afectados por el hecho de que alguien no seguía los problemas evidentes del procesamiento de tarjetas, en 2020 todo sigue igual de malo.
